The age old problem that teachers face regularly. Everyone wants the perfect classroom so that our little learners can be enveloped in 'Pinterest Perfect' displays allowing them to learn in an exciting and engaging environment. Every evening, when a tired and overwhelmed teacher switches off the lights and closes their classroom door, they look at their room and want it to be ready for the next day but often, they are just too tired! "I'll do it in the morning!" is becoming a daily mantra! With the movement of working walls pushing out the old fashioned days of finished products, displays are far from 'wallpaper'. Today's demands are keeping displays clutter free and ensuring easy accessibility and inclusion for all. With the retention crisis continuing to sweep through the UK, one of Teacher On The Green's aims is to free up teacher's time so they can do what they actually went into teaching for... to teach!

With the aforementioned in mind, our aim here at TOTG is to create resources that support teachers with classroom prep and displays, without breaking the bank. We know many teachers fund their own classrooms and therefore do not want to charge expensive subscription fees to teachers who just want to do what is best for their class.

The aim of TOTG is not just to support children in classrooms with displays and resources but to support teachers too. In this month's blog you will find a selection of free well-being tools; some to support you in the classroom but also some that will help you to stop and put your well-being first.

Every teacher has a type of display that they prefer but often it can depend on a school's policy as to how those displays can be presented. There are many sources of information swaying the balance of 'Are displays a benefit or a distraction?'. Here at Teacher On The Green, displays are at the heart and we aim to offer display resources for teachers who sit at either side of that fence. Whether you're looking for neutral, calming resources or garish and loud, we have display resources that are perfect for you.

We are at a point in the school year where transition for the children begins. This looks very different setting to setting. With the excitement of who will be teaching where next year, teachers around the country will be beginning to think about the end of this year and the set up for next year. If you are looking for an end of year poem to use with your class. I have created these. Feel free to save and use as you wish! This will hopefully save you some time and the good news it's free!

Work smarter, not harder!

What does this mean? Sometimes teaching can feel so overwhelming that you have no idea where to start. I haven't met a teacher yet who hasn't at some point felt considerably overwhelmed. I love using my old fashioned hard back diary for blocking time out to work on certain tasks but I like to map it all out first on calendar sheets which you can get here.

To help you to stay on track during the last few hectic weeks of Summer term. Use our free resource; End Of Year Checklist.

A huge part of managing your time effectively when you are teaching, is managing your well-being. You need to remember if you're running on empty, you won't get anywhere fast. I created this well-being calendar with teachers in mind and use it regularly myself.

If you need any support with managing your workload, my PDF guide to being an organised teacher is linked below.
